Smitty, I have saved your posts from last season and finally found a set of cross country skis to attempt to build a sled for my Shappel DX3000 shanty. But in rereading the posts that I saved there were no dimensions of the lumber( I presumed 2x6 and 2x4 ) and of the sizes of the parts.Apr 12, 2020 · I did change a few things to make it my own but the basic design was all him. First, place both skis on the flat on the ground. Put the rails on the skis. Use the markings you made before as a reference. Move the rails as necessary to ensure the base is in the center of each ski. It was beautiful, while sitting in the shop or the truck bed. On it's 3rd outing all of the pvc broke and the sled crumbled to the ground in the parking lot before even making it onto ice.
