At 4 weeks old my brooder became overcrowded and the chicks started pulling each other’s feathers out. So I re homed 6 birds to give the ones I was keeping more room. I kept what I thought was 2 pullets and 2 cockerels.

Most likely it is a cockerel. The wattles are big and red already, and the comb is pretty big. But I'm still not 100% certain on that one. Well, I’d like to say that it turned out to be a he. It already has male feathering coming in and a larger comb. I’m still gonna keep him simply for breeding purposes.Ideally, chicks will not require a heat source when moving from brooder to coop. If the temperatures outside remain above 65°F and the chicks are at least 6 weeks old, they can move into the coop without supplemental heat. Watch and listen to the chickens.
